1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing ramekins 4 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped 2 large eggs 2 large egg yolks 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Step 1

Prepare Ramekins: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and dust them with flour, tapping out any excess.

Step 2

Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together until smooth and well combined.

Step 3

Prepare Egg Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined and slightly thickened.

Step 4

Combine Batter: Pour the slightly cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring gently until smooth. Add flour and salt, and continue to stir until just combined and no flour streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5

Fill Ramekins: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about three-quarters full.
